" Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land amongst the stars" Les Brown.
I am pleased to introduce myself as an educator, a star polisher, an awakener, a believer, an encourager, a nurse, a judge, and a mom. These are just a few of the hats I wear daily. I have been lucky enough to have started my career 31 years ago right here at my second home, the Dawe School, formerly the North School. I am a proud graduate of Stonehill College. In these amazing years, I have taught students grades 6, 5, 1 , 3 and presently, 4 and, in that order. I work with the most amazing people everyday, including students, teachers, parents, custodial engineers, secretaries, nurses, administration, cafeteria workers and many more.
When I am not at school, I am a mom to an amazing young lady of 25 year old, my Taylor. She is my world. Taylor is a graduate of Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School. She is a graduate of Salve Regina University with a Bachelor's in psychology and a Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. She works full time at South Shore Autism Center as a BCBA,LABA I am so proud of her and her beauty shines inside and out!
I have a wonderful husband of 28 years. He is an important part of the community. Tom has done basically every job at the Stoughton police department and just recently retired. He loves to visit us and be involved with the people of Stoughton.
Finally, I have two Yorkshire Terriers. Teddy is a one year old and very spunky. He is filled with lots of energy and love. Lillie is 4 and half years old. Lillie is shy and sweet. I reference these munchkins often in class so don't be surprised to hear about Thing one and Thing two.
I come to school every day with a smile on my face knowing I am so lucky to have the best job in the world, at the best place, with the best people and the best, most supportive family who is always there for me! My students become my own children. My expectations are high and to bring every child to their highest potential in the most engaging and fun way. That is my goal every day and every year. I want them to reflect back to their fourth grade experience as one of the best years of their lives. I encourage my parents to partner with me to support and promote their child's education. One of my favorite sayings, and I have many, is " Welcome to Fourth Grade. Where the fun begins and the learning never ends."
